Engine Kid -“The 1993 Steve Albini Sessions” (“We drove 2037 miles from Seattle to Chicago to record in the basement of some guy’s brick house.”)
Edition of 900 copies
The debut album from Engine Kid recorded by Steve Albini in his basement circa 1993.
A double LP in a Stoughton gatefold jacket with a pen/ink tribute drawing of Albini recording the session done by bassist Brian Kraft. (“We drove 2037 miles from Seattle to Chicago to record in the basement of some guy’s brick house.”)
In the summer of 1993 Engine Kid drove cross country from Seattle to Chicago to record with our hero Steve Albini at his house. You are holding the results of that monumental recording session in your hands. Within this cardboard shroud & Stoughton Gatefold jacket the raw, bloody roots of Greg Anderson (sunn O))), Goatsnake) are concealed. Kid bass master: Krafty penned the cover drawing of Steve while we were watching in awe as he worked on the album. Audio re-mastering by Brad Boatright.
